Melaka Sentral, May 1, 2024 – Today marks a historic moment in Melaka’s transportation landscape as Stage Bus Service Transformation (SBST) Melaka launches its operations, heralding a new era of accessibility and efficiency in public transportation. The inauguration of several strategic routes signifies a concerted effort to address the evolving transportation needs of the state and its residents.

With a fleet comprising numerous buses, SBST Melaka is poised to significantly enhance the accessibility and reliability of public transportation services. The buses to be used will include Low Floor Mini Buses, Mini Buses, and Electric Buses, representing a modernized and diversified approach to meeting the diverse commuting needs of Melaka’s populace.

Under the management of Agensi Pengangkutan Awam Darat (APAD) through the supervision of the Ministry of Transport (MOT), Handal Indah Sdn Bhd is set to be the Network Operator. SBST Melaka will operate 18 routes, ensuring comprehensive coverage throughout Melaka with the collaboration of other operators such as PANORAMA Sdn Bhd and Mara Liner Sdn Bhd, which are designated as Regional Operators.

In line with the commitment to environmental sustainability, SBST Melaka will also operate several electric buses, marking a significant step towards reducing carbon emissions and embracing eco-friendly transportation solutions.
