myBAS Johor Bahru Partners with Johor Deaf Sports Association to Launch myBASKonsesi Registration for Persons with Disabilities

Johor Bahru, December 17, 2023: myBAS Johor Bahru has taken a pioneering step towards enhancing accessibility for marginalized communities by collaborating with the Johor Deaf Sports Association (JSDEAF) to unveil the myBASKonsesi program, providing free bus services for persons with disabilities.

The collaborative initiative, held at the Johor Deaf Association’s office in Johor Bahru, targeted Persons with Disabilities (OKU), Senior Citizens, and children under 17 years old. The primary goal of the program was to raise awareness and encourage registration within the Deaf community, introducing them to the myBAS route services. By becoming myBASKonsesi members, individuals within this community gain access to complimentary bus services provided by myBAS Johor Bahru.

Mr. Kamaruzzaman Hans Asele, representing Handal Indah Sdn. Bhd., played a important role in the event, serving as the lead promoter of myBAS Johor Bahru thru Balconi Enterprises. He emphasized the importance of reaching out to communities along the five corridors in Johor to ensure they can enjoy the benefits of myBASKonsesi, a program currently spearheaded by the Agensi Pengangkutan Awam Darat of the Ministry of Transport.

The event attracted an enthusiastic turnout, with 40 members of the Deaf community from various districts participating actively. This engagement is seen as crucial in fostering a sense of community and ensuring the long-term success of the myBASKonsesi initiative.

The myBASKonsesi program exemplifies the commitment of organizations like JSDEAF and myBAS Johor Bahru to foster inclusivity and address the unique transportation needs of the Deaf community in Johor. This collaborative effort signifies a significant stride towards creating a more accessible and equitable society for all.
