myBAS Johor Bahru Opens Transit Pass Registration Counter at AEON Dato Onn
15 October 2024, Johor Bahru – In an effort to increase accessibility to public transportation services, the Marketing Team of myBAS Johor Bahru has opened a dedicated registration counter at AEON Dato Onn. This initiative aims to reach shoppers eligible for the benefits of myBASKonsesi and myBAS50 transit passes under the Agensi Pengangkutan Awam Darat (APAD) initiative of the Ministry of Transport Malaysia.
The registration counter offers a simple process for obtaining myBASKonsesi and myBAS50 passes, which provide unlimited rides on myBAS services across Johor Bahru. The passes are available to eligible Malaysian citizens, allowing more people to benefit from affordable and reliable public transportation.
During the promotion at AEON Dato Onn, there has been a significant increase in registrations, particularly for myBASKonsesi, which is designed for students below 17 years old, individuals with disabilities, and senior citizens. This pass allows beneficiaries to enjoy unlimited rides on myBAS routes throughout Johor Bahru, covering key corridors such as Pontian, Masai, Pasir Gudang, Kota Tinggi, and Kulai.
Mr. Sonny Peru Cosme, who leads the myBAS Johor Bahru campaign, highlighted the importance of this outreach, stating, “Setting up a registration counter at a popular shopping destination like AEON Dato Onn helps us connect with more people, making it easier for them to access public transportation. This not only encourages higher bus ridership but also helps alleviate traffic congestion in key areas of Johor Bahru.”
Supporting the effort, Dhiaul Badri Bin Sapie, the Marketing Coordinator overseeing the ground operations, expressed his optimism: “We are excited about the opportunity to continue promoting public transport usage. With AEON Dato Onn’s support, we aim to simplify the registration process and encourage even more people to switch to public transportation, benefiting from the advantages offered by myBAS services.”
myBAS Johor Bahru is operated by Handal Indah Sdn. Bhd., with participation from other route operators, including S&S, Maju, and Transit Link.
