myBAS Johor Bahru Launches Registration Counter at Johor Talent Development Council & Career Carnival
Johor Bahru, November 1-3, 2024 — myBAS Johor Bahru opened an on-site registration counter for its myBASKonsesi and myBAS50 during the Johor Talent Development Council & Career Carnival held at the Persada International Convention Centre. The event aimed to connect job seekers and industry professionals while promoting accessible transportation options across Johor Bahru.
The registration counter provided visitors with an easy way to sign up for myBAS50, an affordable monthly transit pass that offers unlimited free rides on all myBAS Johor Bahru buses. By taking advantage of this pass, commuters can travel across the city’s major hubs, including shopping centers, schools, and key industrial areas, significantly reducing their daily transportation costs. The myBAS50 initiative is particularly valuable for the workforce, as it supports economical commuting options, promoting sustainability and affordability.
Alongside myBAS50, myBAS Johor Bahru’s team promoted the myBASKonsesi program, designed to extend free, unlimited ride benefits to students aged 7-17, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities (PWD). This initiative ensures greater mobility for these groups, fostering inclusivity and convenience. Many students visiting the booth expressed enthusiasm, realizing that myBASKonsesi could provide them with a cost-effective way to travel to school, extracurricular activities, and other important locations in the city.
“This event is a fantastic opportunity to introduce our programs to a broader audience,” stated Sonny Cosme, Senior PR & Marketing Executive from Handal Indah Sdn. Bhd. “We are committed to making public transport accessible and affordable for everyone, and it’s rewarding to see so many young people, families, and members of the workforce eager to benefit from these programs.”
The booth was also a lively attraction for career fair attendees, many of whom were impressed by the initiative to reach out directly to the community. By making it easy to register for these transportation programs, myBAS Johor Bahru demonstrated its dedication to helping residents experience a higher quality of life through accessible transit options.
Both myBASKonsesi and myBAS50 are part of the broader PAS Transit myBAS program, launched in 2023 by Agensi Pengangkutan Awam Darat (APAD) under Malaysia’s Ministry of Transport. The program aims to enhance public transportation accessibility and encourage sustainable commuting across the country.
