Orchard, Singapore – October 16, 2024: Handal Indah Sdn. Bhd., a leading cross-border transport service provider between Singapore and Malaysia, proudly presented its innovative transit ticketing and fare collection systems at the 7th edition of the “Transit Ticketing & Fare Collection APAC 2024” conference. The event took place on October 16-17, 2024, at the Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel, featuring key transit operators from across the Asia-Pacific region.

Organized by Global Mass Transit, the conference brought together over 60 organizations from across the APAC region to share success stories and explore emerging trends in ticketing and fare collection systems. The focus was on various sectors such as airlines, metro transit, public bus services, and taxis, showcasing a wide range of solutions.

Handal Indah, under its Causeway Link brand, marked its first international appearance at such a convention, highlighting its cashless payment system. The company proudly reported that 73% of its operations now utilize cashless payments, thanks to its partnership with ManjaLink, a service powered by ManjaLabs.

Handal Indah’s booth was expertly managed by the Marketing Team, led by Sonny Peru Cosme, Senior PR & Marketing Specialist, alongside Mr. Noel Lim, MarComm Executive, and Mr. Yusof Faiz, Creative Specialist. During the session, many attendees were impressed by Handal Indah’s ticketing system, which has successfully automated operations and reduced administrative work. The company’s adoption of open-loop cashless payment systems, including integration with VISA, was a key highlight.

Additionally, MasterCard has expressed interest in partnering with Handal Indah to expand this open-loop system, not only for its cross-border services but also for local routes in Malaysia. Discussions are currently underway to explore this exciting partnership further.

The event also provided Handal Indah the opportunity to announce its commitment to sustainability through the exploration of electric buses for its fleet. This demonstrates the company’s dedication to running an eco-friendly public transport system in the region.

Handal Indah’s partner, ManjaLabs (Manja Technologies), was represented by Mr. Handy Santoso, Senior Project Manager, who showcased the cashless payment solutions for Causeway Link, supported by the LUGO App, the official journey planner for Handal Indah’s public operations.

Moreover, the event recognized the participation of female leaders in what is traditionally a male-dominated industry. Ms. Lim Chern Fang, Deputy Executive Director of Handal Indah Sdn. Bhd., was particularly inspired by the presence of women leaders such as Ms. Alis Oguz, Business Development Manager of Kentkart (Turkey), Akemi Yamaya, Senior Specialist of BD and Solutions at NEC Corporation (Japan), and Nora Tang, General Manager of the Technical Department and International Projects at Octopus Limited (Hong Kong).
