Handal Indah East Coast Flood Assistant Fund (February 2015)
Handal Indah organized the East Coast Flood Assistant Fund to assist flood victims at the affected areas in Kelantan. Fund raising and collection was organized from 9 – 14th January 2015 (4 days). A total of RM2,300.00 was raise by kind donation from all staff in the company.

The internal donations were used to buy supplies such as blankets, foodstuffs, and other daily necessity. With aid from the low cost air carrier, Firefly, the items were sent to 18 families in Kampung Banggol Guchil, Kuala Krai, whose homes were destroyed by the flood. These families where currently living in the local school hall when the items reach them.

Handal Indah was also requested to provide assistance to kids who were starting the new school year without sufficient school supplies. As such, the donations were also used to purchase stationery and supplies for school children in SRJK Chung Hwa in Temangan, Kelantan (47 students) and SJK Machang in Machang, Kelantan (51 students).

All supplies and food items where send over to Firefly on the 2nd of February 2015. On the same note, Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) set up a donation drive in collaboration with all representatives of transport operators throughout Malaysia to assist flood victims in the East Coast. Handal Indah generously donated RM50,000.00 to the fund raising. A mock cheque was present to SPAD Chairman Tan Sri Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar for the fund at our vicinity on the 17th February 2015.

Launch of Limited Edition Doraemon ManjaLink card 10 Nov 2014
In conjunction with the launch of Limited Edition Doraemon ManjaLink card on 10th November 2014, Marketing Department team organized an on-the-ground promotion to promote the card. The promotion took place at JB Sentral counter and on several Causeway Link busses while its operating to ferry passengers. The event was aimed to create awareness among passengers about Handal Indah products, especially the latest Doraemon ManjaLink card. The card is available at RM40 each with 20 TCr credit. During the event, first 50 Doraemon Manjalink card buyer received freebies while two lucky Doraemon ManjaLink customer received prize worth of RM80 each.

Handal Indah brings children from Pusat Kebajikan Kalvari Johor to visit Doraemon expo 10 Oct 2014
Handal Indah continues its Corporate Social Responsibility effort by bringing 30 children from Pusat Kebajikan Kalvari, Taman Perling, Johor Bahru, to visit Doraemon 100 Secret Gadget Expo at City Square on 10th October 2014. The program was aimed to provide opportunity for the children of the foster home to visit the expo which featured the famous comic and cartoon character. Handal Indah staff who participated in the event picked-up the children at their foster home by Causeway Link bus, brought them to City Square, Johor Bahru and sent them back to their home afterwards. For this event, 30 children below the age of 12 years old and 3 care takers from the foster home took part. After visiting the expo, the children were brought to a KFC restaurant for a lunch treat. We also had a birthday celebration for children who their birthday is around October 2014.

Launching of Free 'Bas Bandaraya' by Prime Minister 8 Aug 2014
Majlis Bandaraya Johor Bahru (MBJB) and Handal Indah Sdn Bhd launched a free ‘Bas Bandaraya’ service with the use of Travel Card which starts its trial operation on 8th August 2014. The launching ceremony was officiated by Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak at Persada International Convention Center, Johor Bahru. The service uses the Larkin - JB Sentral – MBJB - Jalan Wong Ah Fook – Larkin route with the frequency of one bus every 10 minutes. To board the Bas Bandaraya service, commuters need Travel Card. MBJB was providing 3,000 free MBJB Limited Edition Travel Card for passengers starting from 22nd August 2014 at MBJB’s counter in JB Sentral and Larkin Sentral. Additional card at discounted price of RM5 was also available until 7th September 2014. The normal price of the Travel Card is RM10. The full operation of the service begun on 8th September 2014.

Launch of Short Film 3 Mar 2012
A press conference to launch of short film "Friends or Family" was held in KSL city last Saturday, 03 March 2012. The film is produced by VOSW production, a vibrant, young and creative team of people. The story of short film depicted the lifestyle of youngsters who spend more time with their friends than their family these days. It has 4 different stories starring by a group of local young artists and each of them in the film portrays a daughter or son who is negligent of their parents. Causeway Link, one of the sponsors for the short film was invited to attend the event. “We feel that film production as a communication media has a powerful resonance in our culture and is a great avenue for the leaders of tomorrow to promote change, said Ms Fang, operation and marketing manager for Causeway Link. We are proud to align with VOSW production, through its creations to inspire the youngsters today; we hope this alliance with VOSW will amplify the voice of the importance of family. The film is also to remind youngsters to spend a little more time from their busy schedule to show a little care to their parents wherever and whenever they can. MATTA FAIR 2-4 Mar 2012
Causeway Link participate its first ever exhibition in recent MATTA fair was held in Danga City Mall from 02 to 04 March 2012. The weather was wet and cloudy in these 3 days event, though, it didn't stop a flock of travel mania's desire come to check out best deals in the fair. Causeway Link had offered 20% discount for one way ticket for the route JB to KL and JB to Batu Pahat. Our objectives were to promote other services such as bus advertising, express bus services and chartering services, and exhibition bus. The event did meet our aim. Most of people surprisingly that we are providing other services besides of public transport.

Charity Visit to Sultan Ismail Hospital 16 Feb 2012
Handal Indah organizes charity event once a year, this year, on 16 Feb, we had a charity visit to Sultan Ismail Hospital. We prepared 100 goodies bags for the patients. With the help from Ahli Lembaga Pelawat of the hospital, we were arranged to orthopedic unit. Tuan Haji Roslan and Ms Fang met patients and also handed out goodies bags. We hope that a little care from us may sooth the pain of the patients and we also sincerely hope that they may get well very soon. After that, we were honourably given an opportunity to visit Traditional and Complementary unit that offers therapies such as acupuncture and massage. Sultan Ismail Hospital is the first hospital establishes such a unit. Overall, the visit was an eye-opener as well as a meaningful event. Our visit ended at 4.30pm and here are some pictures..

Introduction of ManjaLink & Launch of New Bus Service to Johor Premium Outlets - 8 Dec 2011
Handal Indah Sdn Bhd, which operates the Causeway Link bus service, is introducing a whole new payment system, ManjaLink, to eliminate the travelling time for the cross-border bus services between Johor Bahru and Singapore.

Currently, between 3,000 and 6,000 passengers are using its bus services from the Second Link (2nd Link) Bridge to Singapore daily, and between 10,000 and 15,000 users for the services via the Causeway. By utilizing the ManjaLink Card, not only will it shave the travelling time, travelling will be more secured as the cashless system eliminates the need for loose change.

The ManjaLink Card stores Travelling Credits that deducts the fares upon detection by the reader. The Travelling Credits are secured as any cases of loss of card or theft can be reported to the available counters, ensuring the user that their credits are always available.

Today also marks the day that 2 new services will be introduced to ferry shoppers from Johor Bahru and Singapore to Johor Premium Outlets (JPO) – JPO 1 and JPO 2.

JPO, located along the highway in Kulaijaya is a joint venture between Genting Bhd and Simon Property Group, is scheduled to be officially launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on Sunday (Dec 11). The stores include those selling top brands like Armani Exchange, Burberry, Charles & Keith, Coach, DKNY, Michael Kors, Salvatore Ferragamo and Zegna.

Visitors from Singapore will have two options – they could board the company’s cross-border bus service from the republic via the Woodlands Causeway or the Tuas 2nd Link Bridge. Those coming from the Causeway could catch the bus service JPO1 from JB Sentral which is just a walking distance from the Bukit Chagar Customs, Quarantine and Immigration (CIQ) complex. The JPO2 service caters from visitors using the 2nd Link where they could board Causeway Link cross-border bus services from Jurong East Interchange to Gelang Patah Terminal, passing through the 2nd Link to the retail outlet.

JPO2 also extends its service to Senai Airport, providing passengers a convenient travelling option.
