PIKAS – Accelerate Immunisation of the Rakyat
The Public-Private Partnership Industrial Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PIKAS) is now open for registration for companies from the manufacturing sector in 4 major states including Johor, Selangor, Penang and Sarawak. This public-private programme will be extended nationwide by next month, to better promote the Government’s efforts to accelerate the vaccination rate among the Malaysia work force and reduce the number of COVID-19 workplace clusters. This would help ensure the welfare of employees is being protected, and to promote the recovery of the economy at the same time.
Who can apply for PIKAS?
The PIKAS application is available for companies from the manufacturing sector.
For agriculture, construction, plantation and retail sectors they can apply through their respective ministries as follows:
- Agriculture – Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industries (MAFI)
- Construction – Construction Industry Development Board, Ministry of Works (KKR)
- Plantation – Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities (MPIC)
- Retail – Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP)

How would PIKAS be implemented?
There are two options when it comes to vaccination venues:
Option 1: Vaccination at common use vaccination centre (PPV)
Option 2: On-site vaccination within the factory premise or at indented and approved location
**For option 2, the company, or collectively with other companies, will need to have at least 1,000 workers for on-site vaccination. The collective companies will need to identify and prepare a PPV for vaccination of their employees

You may refer to the list below for all the available PPV across the nation, more and more PPV will be opened to ramp up the vaccination rate in near future.

How should I arrange the workers’ transportation to the appointed vaccination centres under the PIKAS program?
When it comes to transportation arrangement, we understand that it can be quite challenging to transfer so many workers and having to take into account the expenses and keeping the production line running at the same time.

Our advice here is to split and transfer the workers with the same vaccination day into several batches. By doing so, not only it will help minimize the impact to the production line as most of the workers will still able to stay around to support the normal operation, but it also helps to reduce the overall cost as you will need lesser manpower and vehicles to support the workers transferring each time.
