Tuan Haji Rozlan Bin Abu Bakar, Executive Director of Handal Indah Sdn Bhd represented Handal Indah Sdn Bhd during the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing together with the representatives of Mitsui & Co., Ltd, Medini Iskandar Malaysia Sdn Bhd (MIM), and HINO Motor Sales (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd on the 15th of June 2017 at Medini 6, Bandar Medini Iskandar Malaysia, Iskandar Puteri, Johor Bahru.
According to the Management of Medini Iskandar Malaysia, The MOU was signed at a perfect time as it is aligned with Iskandar Malaysia Low Carbon Society Blueprint, where it aims to reduce carbon intensity in Iskandar Malaysia by 58 per cent by 2025. The introduction of hybrid bus could also potentially be part of a future modern fleet of public transportation in Iskandar Malaysia, where they can offer economical and clean public transport system.
Ms Lim Chern Fang, HIGC Director of Operations and Marketing said during her speech: “In order to align with Iskandar Malaysia Low Carbon Society Blueprint, we are ready to move towards a smart transportation to provide a clean and fuel efficient means of urban transportation for the commuters and benefiting the community at large”.

“First of all, I would like to congratulate Mitsui & Co., Ltd Medini Iskandar Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Hino Motor Sales Malaysia Sdn Bhd, and Handal Indah Sdn Bhd on bringing the first hybrid bus in Malaysia to Medini City.
…Hino Motor sales’ hybrid buses are internationally known and have operations in the US, Australia and Singapore, Handal Indah is a leading bus operation company and have introduced innovative technologies, such as a new ticketing and mobile-based journey planning system into the market. Therefore, we believe that the collaboration between Malaysian Company, Handal Indah and Japanese Company, Hino Motor sales will result in the establishment of Global smart city in Medini district, leading to a more effective public transport system, such as the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system.”

Handal Indah Sdn Bhd provided a Causeway Link Chartered Bus to cater to the transportation need of the Special Education Class of University Technology Malaysia (UTM- Johor Bahru) on its event held at L50 and Perkarangan Pusat Ko-Q, UTM Johor Bahru on the 6th of May 2017.
The said event was named as HI Fest ‘17 Karnival Besar OKU Pekak. It has various lined up activities which include: Kelas Bahasa Isyarat (Learning Sign Language), Ceraman Tentang Orang Kurang Upaya (all about OKU), Silent Run Bersama OKU (run with the OKU), Sukaneka Bersama OKU (Sports Events for OKU), Gerai Jualan Oleh OKU (selling booth/counter by OKU) and Daftarkerja Untuk OKU (voluntarily working with the OKU).
According to Ms Agnes Tan Poh Yoh, Handal Indah Sdn Bhd Operations Admin Head, “It is our pleasure to contribute in this kind of event as part of our social responsibility towards community engagement especially for the less privilege communities in Johor Bahru and some districts within Johor. It is always a part of our responsibility to give back to the community as we give smiles to everyone”.
Teacher Fauziah Bt Mohamed Salleh from Smk Taman Sutera also shared her thought: “on behalf of my school especially the Special Education students, we would like to extend our sincere gratitude on the sponsored transportation service from Causeway Link for our students and teachers during the "Silent Run" event. We are truly honoured to receive your continuous support for our student’s daily travelling mode of transport where our students need not worry anymore”.
She also added: “I hope that Causeway Link and UTM are able to work together and continue the mutual cooperation between our organizations to build a stronger working relationship to provide better care and support for these Special Education students to excel in their studies.
Meanwhile, a total of 31 students and 7 teachers from UTM were chartered by Causeway Link from Sekolah Pendidikan Khas Skudai to UTM Skudai.
The said event was also supported by JS Deaf known as Persatuan Orang Pekak Johor.
The Management of Handal Indah Group of Companies (HIGC) through the office of Operations and Sales and Marketing Director Ms. Lim Chern Fang supported the 2017 Charity Run organised by Care Love Welfare Foundation Malaysia (CLWFM).
HIGC donated a total of 1000 pcs of Causeway Link Stress Ball worth RM3, 600 to the said organization as part of the package given to all runners during the event day.
According to Wei Jon, a volunteer from 448 HOL Food Bank Charity Run, “We are so thankful that Causeway Link is able to extend its support to our advocacy. We really appreciate this initiative”. The smiley face within the stress balls are a good indication of positive vibes we shared with our runners”, he also added.
The event was named as 448 HOL Food Bank Charity Run 2017 (Run for Food) which was held on the 20th of May 2017 at the Sutera Mall Carpark, Skudai, Johor. The event started from 5am and the fun run covered a total of 5 Kilometres with a total of 1600 participants.
According to Ms Lim, “It is good to support this kind of advocacy as there are many less privilege people that needs our assistance. Ms Lim also added that “Causeway Link is very much grateful to be able to contribute in a small way to the setting up of the first Food Bank in Johor”.
House of Love (HOL) Food Bank Johor was established in July 2015. It is a non-profit organization uniting all resources to serve charitable works such as monthly 4 hours for social services from both government and private sectors.
The beneficiaries include single-parent families, family of illness, old folks, orphans, poor families and others.
Additional Subway Outlet was opened within the premises of a Caltex Petrol Station along Jalan Nipah 2, Taman Daya, 81100 Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia on the 27th of April 2017.
According to Mr Ang Yuh Yaw, Taman Daya Subway Outlet Franchisee, “this outlet is the 22nd Subway Outlet opened within Johor.
Mr Goh Lak Jin, General Manager for Ancillary Business Division of Handal Indah Group of Companies (HIGC) also mentioned that this store was the first Subway Outlet to operate within the premises of a Caltex Petrol Station in Malaysia.
Mr Ang, also mentioned during the interview “Taman Daya Subway Outlet will be a good place for motorists, locals and even tourists to drop by to enjoy their freshly made breads, chips, cookies and others. “We also serve different types of protein and fresh-cut vegetables to make a wholesome meal. Protein includes tuna, chicken, teriyaki, roasted beef etc while fresh-cut vegetables offers lettuce, tomatoes, onion and capsicums. Aside from these, we also have 10 types of sauces that help the customers suit their preferred taste” he also added.

LEGOLAND Bukit Bintang Express Bus driver managed to return a lost mobile phone inside his bus to an express bus passenger on the 14th of April 2017.
Encik Bakri Bin Lasaeni, Express Bus Service driver noticed the missing mobile phone inside his bus and quickly reported the lost phone to our Operation Express Team.
Our Express Department through the supervision of Ms Sharon Chong Poue Wah did a quick investigation as to who was the owner of the lost mobile phone following the seat number where the said item was found.
Express Department quickly gathered the relevant information about the passenger through our system and found out that the owner was returning on the same date using our Express Bus Service from LEGOLAND to Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur. The said information was shared quickly to Ms Indrimita Sari Binti Dahmir, Operations-Customer Service Lead, for an assistance.
Miss In quickly alerted Meor, our Ticketing Counter staff from Mall of Medini, through our internal WhatsApp group. With the initiative from the whole Express Department, Ticketing Counter and Customer Service Section, the said mobile phone was returned quickly to the passenger in the name of Ms Lee Hyun Soo. She is a South Korean national and staying in Malaysia for a short family holidays.
Ms Soo was shocked and happy when the phone was returned to her in front to our Mall of Medini Counter. She expressed her gratitude to the honesty of our Express Bus Driver and has also commended the quick assistance of our Express Department and Customer Service Section. “Thank you so much for returning back my missing phone”, she said.
